As an artist one of the biggest self-doubts we have is about our VALUE.

What is the point of an adorable artisan mouse, really, in the great scheme of the universe? Am I changing lives, making the world better, by hand crafting mice?

I adore making them, but shouldn't I be doing something MORE with my life?

I have bumped up against this limiting belief so often I have a permanent lump on my head.

In fact I am sure it had a lot to do with why I thought I needed to chase a different dream last summer. The reason why I closed my shop – I thought – for good.

But the mice kept calling me back, I missed them, and I missed my customers. Life was less joyful without my Etsy shop

Recently I made the decision that I needed a coach, someone who could help me figure out what it all means and how to better serve you.

It seems the Universe agreed with me, and brought the immensely talented business mentor into my life.

Within moments of speaking with her, she had zeroed in on my "not enough-ness" belief and was working on getting me to reframe it.

I'm so glad she did! My eyes are open again!! And I want to share with you the revelation I had:

The mice come alive as joyful reminders of the moments, people, characters, achievements and milestones in your life that are most meaningful to you.

They are anchors and reminders of what matters most – your joy!

And I can't think of a better purpose for my life than to keep bringing you more of that precious joy.

My Shop (and DA page!) are open again! I look forward to making mice to delight you for many years to come!

With a joyful heart,
Anna and the Mice

I love it when I get a custom order request for a mouse that represents something really special for a family. Sometimes the requests are strange, but the stories behind them are wonderful! This little mouse was made from a request for a “deflated mouse”.

My customer had a baby grandson who made a lot of squeaking noises. She said he sounds like he’s a mouse, while her daughter said he sounds like he was deflating. So they started calling him “deflated mouse”. It’s also a pun on the operetta Die Fledermaus that made them laugh.

Since I knew a mouse that wasn’t stuffed would look odd, I suggested I make him with a water wings valve on his back to represent being deflated. My customer loved the idea and the final mouse.

“I love that he's based on my grandson and a moment in our lives that my daughter and I share that makes us laugh together.”

It was such a pleasure to make this very unique and special reminder of love through the generations of a family!

Your mice are amazing, where did you get the inspiration for these?

Hi Waggett, thanks so much! sorry for my late response. My Granny used to make little felt mice, she died when I was young but I grew up with her mice living in my parents home. One year I made them as xmas gifts for family and they were so popular I decided to try selling them. :)
